Raku – A Japanese firing techniques in which an already biscuit ceramic piece is fired at 1,470–1,830 °F and then removed from the kiln at bright red heat. It will then instantly be placed in containers of combustible materials to deprive the pot of oxygen, giving the glaze unpredictable and stunning variety of colors.
